Fairfax is a 40 minute drive north of the city of San Francisco, near the redwoods of Northern California.
Airports
Oakland International Airport (OAK): 35 miles 45 minute drive away
San Francisco International Airport (SFO): 34 miles, 50 minute drive away
We recommend flying into one of these two airports and driving north to San Rafael & Fairfax. SFO has more flights but is a little further away, OAK is closer but has fewer flights in.

Activities in the Marin & Sonoma Area
Fairfax and San Rafael are great entry points into the nearby Muir Woods National Monument, Point Reyes National Seashore, Sonoma Wineries, and the beautiful city of San Francisco
Sonoma & Napa
Napa and Sonoma are world renown wine growing regions, and a 30-40 minute drive from San Rafael. If you love wine, or just want to try a new experience, we highly recommend!
